IMMIGRANT BUSINESS EXPO – September 6, 2025
MB Immigrant Employment Council successfully conducted the 2nd Immigrant Business Expo in partnership with RRC Polytech and New Canadians.
The Immigrant Business Expo Manitoba (IBE) is a one-day exhibition including workshops, panel discussions, a marketplace, and small business clinics assisting new immigrant and refugee business owners. Immigrant Business Expo Manitoba aims to assist new immigrants in navigating the sometimes complex requirements of operating a small business in Canada along with connecting them with government funded as well as other community services and supports that help newcomers start or grow their own small
businesses.

EMPLOYER WEBINAR SERIES – May 14, 2025
Employer Webinar Series on “Embracing Newcomers for a Robust Workplace,” with Ms. Soheila Homayed, Rural Immigration Program Manager for the Rural Development Network, to explore how hiring newcomers can strengthen workforce, support business growth, and support community vibrancy.

EMPLOYER WEBINAR SERIES – October 30, 2024
Employers received insights on “Innovative Hiring Strategies and Effective Integration of Immigrants” in workplaces. The guest speaker for this webinar was Alice Craft, Research Associate at the Conference Board of Canada’s National Immigration Centre.

REFUGEE HIRING EVENT – September 25, 2024
The Refugee Jobs Agenda Roundtable initiated a unique hiring event for refugees and forcibly displaced persons currently seeking employment in Manitoba.
This Hiring Event provided either a job offer on the spot, an opportunity for a second interview, or be flagged for inclusion into further hiring processes of the employers you interview with. Besides immediate on-site response, the refugees were benefitted by:
- Accessing pre-screened and multi-sectorial job opportunities from Manitoba’s top employers who are committed to tapping into the refugee talent pool.
- Receiving interview coaching from qualified Employment Counsellors at an onsite Coaching Corner to maximize your interview performance.

IMMIGRANT BUSINESS EXPO – September 20, 2024
The Immigrant Business Expo offered invaluable insights on starting, growing, and managing your small business in Canada! Workshops and networking opportunities were provided for existing and prospective immigrant business owners.
